Ester B. Saggin & Blaze Enjoy a Warm Weather Walk

Ester B. Saggin & Blaze The Basset Hound as Spiderman & Doctor Octopus

Two of my favorite characters are ESTER B. SAGGIN & BLAZE THE BASSET HOUND! Sadly, I haven't done much with them in quite a while, but today's nasty weather outside drove me inside, where I had a little fun with my ol' friends. The two of them enjoy a bit of role-playing, as seen here pretending to be Spiderman(dog) and his enemy, Doctor Octopus!

Getting out of the house...to the HESSEN HAUS!

Working out of the home is nice, don't get me wrong. But getting out of the house for 'date night' with my lovely wife, is awesome! Tonight we escaped to the HESSEN HAUS in downtown Des Moines, Iowa, for a few brews, dinner and a lot of laughs :-)

The day I got the call to illustrate a book of Gross Jokes (Tangerine Press)...I knew the publisher had found the right illustrator! All I had to do was revert to my sixth grade mind...and since I never matured beyond that point...I was immediately good to go!
