Thinking of my SWEETHEART while at the softball field

In an effort to help my wife with her coaching duties, I have tried to volunteer a bit more up at the softball field with general field maintence. I'm glad to help if it means getting her, my sweetheart, back home a little sooner each evening.

For some reason recent assignments seem to have been revolving around 'water' themes. Which is fine by me. They lend themselves to lots of fun and color! Here's another one I just finished up earlier today!

Enjoying the company of fellow NATIONAL CARTOONISTS SOCIETY members (friends)!

This weekend members of the North Central Chapter of the National Cartoonists Society traveled to Des Moines, Iowa, to take part in a NCS activity. The night before that activity my wife and I had the great pleasure of having these folks (Paul and Arlene Fell, Mike Edholm, James Hungaski, Kelly McNutt, Tom Richmond, John Hambrock and Chris Sinclair) to our home, where we delighted in an evening of laughter and great camaradie! What a super talented group of really nice folks!

What Startled The Frogs?

Late in the evening of this past Saturday night, after my wife had fallen asleep, I just had this
weird urge to draw some frogs. Please, do ask me why because I have no idea. I just know that for some reason drawing frogs sounded fun....and as it turns out...IT WAS! You can see, or judge, for yourself from the drawing that came out of that :-)

Remembering My Wonderful Mother-In-Law

In a world of jokes about awful Mother-In-Laws, I count myself considerably lucky to have been blessed with one of the truly great ones! Clarice Wright would have been 89 today. She passed just over 3 years ago, from Alzheimers. She was an amazing woman. Funny (hilarious, actually), intelligent, opinionated, caring, kind, tough, stubborn, supportive, helpful, unselfish, a great grandmother to our kids and very loving in her way. She blessed me with her daughter, my wonderful wife...for which I am eternally grateful.___We, I, miss you, Clarice. Happy Birthday!
